Vienna, Austria — November 10, 2025 — Austrian-based Filipino singer, musical star, and comedian Vincent Bueno has launched a GoFundMe campaign to support victims of Supertyphoon Uwan (international name Fung-Wong), which has devastated large parts of the Philippines.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Bueno made a direct appeal to his followers and the public:
“I’m really the last person to ask for money, but this time I’m seriously asking for your help. You have probably heard about the latest super typhoon that devastated large parts of the Philippines, and now another super typhoon named Fung Wong is approaching. I am tired of watching our beloved home island, the Philippines, literally sinking in my feed and on social media.
I sincerely ask for your support. I know we all have our own problems and worries, and most of us are short on money. But anyone who has ever come into contact with Filipinos in the hospital or in everyday life knows how loving our people are. Even if we can’t get our own politics under control, we count as a collective conglomerate of people, and I dare to say with confidence and pride that we are a very hard-working and empathetic people scattered all over the world.
Please, dear Austria and everyone else in the world who sees this. I will make 100% sure that the donations are passed on to the affected families, because this time it affects parts of my own family and their community. I know that I cannot save lives with these donations, as I am powerless here and can only watch. But I want to try to change what is within my power, because we need each other more than ever.
Thank you to everyone who wants to help me make life a little easier for the Filipinos affected.”
Bueno, who is well-known for his work in Austria’s entertainment scene and for representing Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest, said that all donations will go directly to affected families—including members of his own extended family.
In addition to the online fundraiser, Bueno announced that he will donate a large portion of the ticket proceeds from his upcoming concert on November 24, 2025, at Schlossgewölbe, Vösendorf.
“Every euro counts,” Bueno emphasized. “This is about compassion and solidarity. The Philippines has always given so much warmth to the world; now it’s our turn to give something back.”
